Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

Gavin broke his arm!

On July 22ND Gavin broke his arm! Court got home late from work that night so I let Gavin stay up to play with his daddy for a while. Around 10:30 I decided it was time for him to go to bed so like every night I got his milk and kitty and put him in bed. He usually cries for a minute and lays down, so I waited outside his door to make sure he didn't try to climb out of his crib and when I thought he had settled down I went downstairs. As soon as I sat down on the couch Court and I heard a loud bang. We flew up the stairs to find Gavin on the floor with his kitty in one hand and his cup in the other. He immediately grabbed his left arm. We took him downstairs and calmed him down to try to examine him and find out if anything was broken. He wouldn't let us near his arm so we decided it was best to take him to the ER and have everything checked out. As soon as the nurse came in she could tell it was broken. They had to do an x-ray and at the time we didn't know for sure that I was pregnant so I had to wait in the room while Court took him back. I could hear Gavin screaming from down the hall! They came back in with the doctor and he told us what we had already thought. His arm was broken. My heart sank into my stomach, I felt like the worst mom in the whole world! They gave him a kids dose of Lora tab and after a few minutes came in to wrap his arm up in a splint. They don't do casts on little kids so we had to make an appointment at Primary Children's to get that put on.

He had his cast on for 3 weeks. Thank goodness for waterproof! To all you parents with small children: they don't offer a waterproof cast you have to ask for it and it will cost you $40 but let me tell you it was worth every penny. After the first few days of having the cast Gavin realized it could be used as a weapon and it worked! I was scared to death of it, if he hit you it hurt! 3 weeks went by fast and we took him back up to Primary Children's to have it taken off. Libby let us borrow her kid headphones so we could distract Gavin with a movie on the Ipod. He held really still the whole time and as soon as the cast was off he acted like nothing had ever happened. Here are the pictures of his arm.

This was the morning after he broke it.

Uncle Taylor felt bad so he bought Gav a new Tow Mater truck

His first day with the cast

Waiting to get the cast off

We treated him to a doughnut for being such a good boy

I love that Court is opening his mouth while he is feeding Gav

Finally a free arm.

P.S. I haven't dared put Gavin in his crib to sleep since this happened so we either take him for a drive or let him fall asleep in our bed (which is becoming a bad habit)
