We had a tour guide today and our first stop was Fort Agra. Here is a slide show of pictures.
Next we went to a rug shop. We were able to see how the rugs are made. We bought a 5'x7' rug. To make a rug like ours it takes 4 months with two people working on it. After seeing how they are made it was hard to not want to buy one. I dont have a picture of our rug but here is how they are made.
Our tour guide told us that Court looks just like an actor here so he found the pictures on the internet to show us.
After the rug shop we ate lunch at a place nearby and headed for the Taj Mahal. Words and pictures cannot describe the beauty of the Taj. We still had a lot of fog while we were there so our pictures didn't turn out that great. Here is a picture of the entrance to the Taj.
Our tour guide posed us for this picture thats why its so cheesy!
There is so much detail to the Taj Mahal every flower or color in the designs are stone set in the marble nothing is painted on. The lettering gets bigger as it goes up so that when you look at it the letters are all the same size its a pretty cool optical illusion. Here is a slide show of the Taj Mahal.
We were on our way to the hotel when we spotted an elephant! The one thing I wanted to do here was ride an elephant. Marc, Libby, the kids, Ayesha, Sonali, Larry and I all took a ride on one tonight. His/her name was Ceta. It was so cute and so much fun to ride on. The only sad part was its front leg was broken or something so everytime it bent down to let someone on or off it would cry. It was so sad to see it in pain.
Today has been so great and we are not looking forward to traveling again tomorrow. We leave in the morning for our long bus ride to Dehli and then fly back to Mumbai for the end of our journey. We will post again soon. We love you all!
I want to know what the actors name is. I think that is so funny! There is a big resemblence.
