Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

We have birds!

For months I have been telling Courtney that one day when he came home from work we would have a new blue bird. He repeatedly told me "NO!" Gavin loves to see birds outside and he loves all animals. I want my kids to be able to have pets like I did when I was little. I decided one day about a month ago to take Gavin to the pet store to just look at the birds. I really had no intention to buy one yet. There was this one little blue bird that sat right at the front of the cage and stared at Gavin as he stared back. It was like it was meant to be. After a few texts and phone calls Courtney agreed to let us take home a bird. Our cute little blue bird was terrified of his new home. Harley thought we had brought her lunch. It didn't matter where we put the bird Harley would try to attack him through the cage. The bird was scared and didn't eat much the first day.

I stopped by Petco the day after I bought the blue bird to grab a few things for the cage and while we were there I saw this bright yellow bird. He was so cute and so bright. We kept trying to think of a name for our blue bird and Gavin wanted to call him Spongebob. I just couldn't name a blue bird Spongebob. I told my mom that I should of bought this yellow one I saw because the name would be perfect. My mom told me that she read online that parakeets do better in pairs and I started thinking that since our blue bird was scared because of Harley that maybe having two would be better. My mom even said she would buy the yellow one for Gavin just so he could name him Spongebob. All I could think about was how was I going to talk Court into two birds when he didn't even want one. I decided it was better to ask for forgiveness instead of permission :) Once I had both birds in their cage I sent Court a picture of the blue bird with the title Patrick and then I sent him a picture of the yellow bird saying Spongebob. He was really confused at first but after I explained he was fine. Better than I expected. So we now have two birds in our family and we love them. They love to chirp at the sound of water running or when Preslie is crying. They bring so much life to our home. I must add that Courtney likes the birds now and talks to them and holds them all the time. Oh and Harley still would like to eat them but she is getting a lot better!
